What herbs taught me about faith, healing, and trusting what He already provided
BY: Ruby · Wellness + Faith · 6 min read
“He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.”
— Psalm 104:14 (KJV) —
Before I ever brewed a single blend, before I had a business name, before I knew what an Etsy shop was God was already growing the answer in the earth. That’s the thing about Him. He doesn’t wait until you’re ready. He plants provision long before you know you need it.
I started Blooming Wellness Co. because I believed that healing didn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or disconnected from faith. The earth is full of plants that calm the mind, strengthen the immune system, soothe the throat, and restore the body. Not by accident by design. And I want you to know what those plants are, what they do, and why I put them in your cup.
This is Part 1 of an ongoing series I’m calling God Put It In the Earth where I’ll spotlight the herbs behind our Sip & Bloom blends, the science that backs them, and the scriptures that remind us healing has always been His idea.
THE HERB SPOTLIGHT: Three Herbs You Need to Know
🌿 Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea)
One of the most studied herbs on earth. Echinacea activates white blood cells your body’s frontline defense helping you fight off colds and seasonal illness faster. It’s the anchor of our Immune Defense blend, because protection starts before symptoms arrive.
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”
— Proverbs 17:22—-
🌸 Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
The plant of peace. Chamomile calms the nervous system, reduces cortisol (your stress hormone), and prepares the body for deep, restorative sleep. We built our Calm & Comfort blend around her gentle power because rest is sacred, not optional.
“He grants sleep to those he loves.”
— Psalm 127:2 —-
🌺 Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
Bold, beautiful, and packed with antioxidants. Hibiscus supports heart health, glowing skin, and natural detoxification. It’s why our Strawberry Hibiscus refresher is as gorgeous as it is good for you a cup that looks like a blessing and works like one too.
“She is more precious than rubies.”
— Proverbs 31:10 —-
5 WAYS TO START AN HERBAL PRACTICE EVEN IF YOU’RE BUSY..
1. Replace one morning coffee with an herbal blend
You don’t have to overhaul your whole routine. One cup a day builds the habit, and you’ll notice the difference within a week.
2. Pair your tea with scripture or a prayer
The ritual matters as much as the herb. Stillness activates the parasympathetic nervous system the same state where healing happens.
3. Match the blend to what your body is telling you
Feeling anxious? Calm & Comfort. Coming down with something? Immune Defense. Your body is always communicating herbal wellness helps you respond.
4. Drink it warm and without distraction
Even five minutes of quiet with your cup is a form of self-care that costs nothing but intention.
5. Give yourself permission to be well
This one sounds simple, but it isn’t. So many of us pour into everyone else and leave nothing for our own restoration. You are allowed to bloom too.
I wasn’t a herbalist before I started this. I was a woman who was tired, overwhelmed, and looking for something that felt like care not just a product. I started researching herbs and kept finding myself in scripture. Every plant I studied, I found God already talking about.
That confirmation was all I needed. Blooming Wellness Co. isn’t just a business. It’s a ministry in a cup. Every blend we create is intentional, every ingredient chosen with your body and your spirit in mind.
